A monokini is a one-piece swimsuit with the sides, midriff or back cut away, so it shows as much skin as a bikini while staying connected as a single garment. This collection holds the Femme X monokinis and monokini-style bodysuits in mesh, fishnet and mirror finishes, every one of them sewn in our Medellín factory.

The USA flag monokini is 94% polyester, 6% spandex. Mirror styles use a stretch polyester-spandex base with a reflective face. The Monokini & Top Set pairs a cut-out one-piece with a matching top. All are One Size.

Types of monokini

Cut-out monokini

Front and back are joined by straps or a narrow center panel, with the sides open. This is the most common style here and the one that works best as swimwear.

Thong monokini

A one piece thong swimsuit keeps the front panel and finishes with a thong back. Tan lines stop at the hip. Several of the mirror monokinis are cut this way.

Sling and bodysuit styles

Sling monokinis are two straps that run over the shoulders and meet at a small front panel. The Femme X sheer bodysuits in this collection sit between swimwear and dancewear: worn dry on stage, worn wet at the pool.

Quick answers

What is the difference between a monokini and a bikini?

A bikini is two separate pieces. A monokini is one piece with cut-outs. From the front, a well-cut monokini can look like a bikini; from the side, the connecting straps give it away.

Is a monokini good for swimming?

Cut-out and thong monokinis are fine for pools and beaches. Mirror and fishnet versions are styled for stage and festival use; rinse after water and air dry.

How does a One Size monokini fit?

The fabric stretches to fit rather than following a numbered chart. We have not measured a numbered range for it yet, so send us your measurements if you are unsure.

Two pieces instead? Shop micro bikinis. The same mirror finishes appear in exotic dancewear, and the full swim range is in sexy swimwear.
