Teddy vs bodysuit

Fit

A teddy hangs loose from the shoulders with a camisole top and a relaxed panty. A bodysuit is cut close through the torso like a leotard and usually closes at the gusset. Under clothes, only the bodysuit stays smooth.

Fabric and coverage

Lace pieces in this range are 78% nylon, 22% spandex and semi-sheer. Mesh pieces are 82% polyester, 18% spandex and fully sheer. The Enchantment Straps Body adds cotton for a softer feel. Nothing here is lined.

Where each one works

Teddies suit a night in, a hotel weekend or a gift. Lace bodysuits double as evening tops. Mesh bodysuits with choker and cuffs are statement lingerie. Mirror bodysuits are for the pole, the club or a rave.

Is a teddy the same as a bodysuit?

No. Both are one-piece lingerie, but a teddy is loose-fitting and a bodysuit is fitted. Shops often group them together, which is why this page exists.

Which is more comfortable to sleep in?

A teddy. The relaxed cut and absence of a tight gusset make it the better sleep option; the Pima cotton sets are softer still if sleep is the main goal.
